During class, you will practice CPR on a life-like dog mannequin and learn many potentially life-saving first aid skills such as what to do in the event of drowning, electrocution, bleeding, bloat and many other situations. The course comes with a 64 page manual for you to take home and refer to. Pre-registration is necessary and class size is limited so call or e-mail us today.
Want to know the normal temperature, pulse, and respiration for dogs and cats? Go here to find out.
You'll want to put together your own First Aid Kit to have on hand. We've got a list of supplies you'll want to have.
Pet Partners (Pet-Assisted Therapy) Evaluations
If you would like to participate in a remarkable opportunity with your pet, let us know. Your pet would need to pass certification to participate in pet-assisted therapy to be sure he or she has the right temperament and behavior for this type of environment, and to evaluate how your pet and you work as a team. We set up certification through a representative of the Delta Society.
The last evaluation for certification was Sunday, August 15, 1999. We schedule evaluations every 4 to 6 months.
You may find out more information about this great program.
Click here for a copy of the registration form which you can use to either sign up (if the evaluations are scheduled), or send in to be kept on our mailing list to be informed when the next evaluations are scheduled.
You may also want to go to the Delta Society website for more information on the Pet Partners program, or to order materials.
Classes are held here on a regular basis. A class will help you train your dog to respond to you and do that in a situation full of distractions. A responsive pet is much more enjoyable to have around and increases the satisfaction level of the relationship. Start puppies in a formal class at about 6 months of age (fun, repetitive, informal training should begin at home almost immediately). To find out about the next class, contact us, either by phone (561-746-5501) or e-mail.
