Grooming

"I love my haircut! You know how it is when your human makes you go out with a haircut you hate. Embarrassing! But I never have that problem at the Harmony Animal Hospital Grooming Salon. My hair turns out right every time. And I love the pampering!"

We have on staff, some of the area's most talented groomers to assist you in maintaining that very special appearance of your pet. They have many years of experience in their field. Everyone on the grooming staff will handle your per with care and gentleness.

Included in the regular grooming, your pet is bathed, hand-dried, nails clipped, ears cleaned, and is given a personalized cut according to your choice and description. We can also provide flea baths, as well as medicated or conditioning baths for problem coat and skin.

Some breeds require frequent brushing between visits. Our grooming staff is happy to discuss the proper grooming tools and techniques with you.

For your convenience, you may want to schedule routine medical care on the same day as your grooming appointment.

Grooming Each time you pick up your pet, we suggest that you schedule your next grooming appointment. This will ensure that you receive preferential scheduling. Please give us 24 hour notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment.

Good for Your Pet's Health
Regular grooming is essential to your pet's good health. It should start in puppy or kittenhood so your pet learns to accept and even enjoy it. Grooming involves coat brushing and care, but at Harmony Animal Hospital's Distinctive Pet Grooming it also includes attention to ears, eyes, teeth, mouth and feet. We can also provide special medicated baths as well as flea baths and dips. The benefits of proper grooming include:

  • Fewer skin, eye and ear problems
  • More Effective external parasite control
  • Fewer shedding problems
  • Fewer unsightly, malodorous mats
  • Earlier detection of potential health problems (parasites, lumps, ear and eye infections, dental disease, weight loss or gain, and abnormal coat conditions)
  • Acclimation to handling

We recommend getting your puppy used to grooming at an early age. To do this, stand him on a table for short periods of time while gently and calmly brushing him. Talk to him, praise him and reward him for standing quietly. Always make it fun. Distractions and rewards work better than reprimands. Do it often and increase the length of time gradually until he's standing quietly for his brushing.
