It is true that the northernmost reaches of the Everglades do penetrate Palm Beach County, and much of the county is teeming with wildlife including Bald Eagles, Wild Turkeys and Boars, Alligators, and snakes. The ocean is home to sharks and barracuda. With just a few minor precautions, even the most inexperienced traveler can enjoy safe passage without danger. Regardless whether your trip carries you over land, river, lake, or sea, the key to an enjoyable experience is the right equipment. Just as no one would attempt to whip up a cake with a baseball bat, it is desirable to seek the guidance of professional outfitters before heading out into unfamiliar territory.
