An area with so much undeveloped land is a natural habitat for all forms of wildlife. Herons, ibis, osprey, bald eagles, scrub jays, pelicans, sandpipers and sea gulls are but a few of the different species that comprise the Palm Beach County bird population. On the other end of the scale, alligators can easily be found in the more remote parts of the county, but for the more patient observer, it is possible to spy deer, the elusive Florida Panther, and an occasional wild boar.

The superb climate of Palm Beach County has enabled Lion Country Safari to present in a natural setting many of the animals one would only encounter on safari. From the safety and comfort of your own vehicle, it is possible to spend an entire day observing lions, giraffes, rhinoceros, and over 1,000 animals as they roam the 500 acre park.

The Palm Beach Zoo at Dreher Park presents many outstanding animals, including a Florida Panther, in a more formal and conventional zoo setting. This beautiful zoo has provided millions of children with their first exposure to many exotic animals.

From the convenient Northlake Boulevard location, it is possible to easily access Lake Worth Lagoon for kayak tours of Munyon and Peanut Islands.
