We believe
the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in
the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and
the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
We believe
there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in
three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is absolute and is the sole creator of
the universe. Creation was a divine feat and not an evolutionary process.
We believe
Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of The Holy Spirit and born
of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins, according to the
Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven, where, on the
right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
We believe
the Ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during this age,
to convict men of sin; regenerate the believing sinner; and indwell, guide, instruct, and
empower the believer for godly living and service. We believe that the Holy Spirit endues
believers with service gifts. We believe that the Bible disavows the authenticity of the
sign gifts such as prophecy, speaking in tongues, and interpretation of tongues and
repudiates the experience-oriented theology and ecumenically-oriented practice of the
charasmatic movement.
We believe
and accept the Genesis account of Creation and believe that man came into being by the
direct creation of God and not by evolution. We believe that man was created in the image
of God, but fell into sin and is therefore spiritually lost, and only through regeneration
by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
We believe
that the Scriptures teach that Christ died for the whole world and that salvation of
sinners is divinely initiated, wholly of grace, and accomplished only through the
mediatorial work of the Son of God. It is wholly apart from works and is upon the sole
condition of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, which results in repentance from sin. The
shed blood of Jesus Christ and His bodily resurrection provide the only grounds for the
justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ
by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become the children of God--possessing
eternal life which is eternally secure.
We believe
the purpose of the local church is for the instruction and edification of the believers,
for the administration and exercise of the spiritual gifts, and to provide accountability
and opportunities for service. It is a voluntary association of members of the Body of
Christ, of baptized believers, equal in rank and privilege, subject to the Word of God and
independent of any external ecclesiastical control whatsoever; associated by a declaration
of faith, the fellowship of the Gospel and observing the ordinances of Christ.
We believe
there are two ordinances of the church: Baptism and Communion also called the Lord's
Supper. We believe that water baptism, although not essential for salvation, is a public
testimony of the believer's identification and union with Christ in His death, burial and
resurrection.
We believe
water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior is a testimony
of death to sin and resurrection to a new life and is the first step of obedience to Jesus
Christ as Lord. The Lord's Supper is a memorial service, setting forth in sacred and
symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. All true believers and only believers
should share in it.
We
believe it is the solemn obligation of every believer to be a personal soul winner, and to
do his utmost to carry out the Savior's command to give the Gospel to the whole world.
Upon leading someone to Christ, it is then the incumbent upon the soul-winner to
follow-through with an emphasis on baptism, growth, discipleship, and training the convert
to be a soul-winner.
We believe
the personal, pre-millennial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our
"blessed hope" and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the
believer.
We believe
that there will be a bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life and the
unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment in the Lake of Fire.
We
believe the Scriptures teach that every believer should walk separated unto God from the
world, and by the aid of the Holy Spirit, should walk in Christian love and holiness,
exhibiting qualities of honesty, integrity, forgiveness, and loving kindness. We believe
that separation is the demonstration of an inward change and work of the Holy Spirit and
is not a tool for spiritual advancement lest any man should boast.
We
believe that the home was the first institution of God provided for man, and that marriage
is a sacred relationship and honorable for all. Marriage is used as an emblem of the union
of Christ and His church.
We
believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interest and good order of
human society; those in authority are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored and
obeyed; except only in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the
only Lord of the conscience, and the coming King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
