Although each of the many communities with Martin County have separate identities, only four areas are incorporated; Stuart, Sewalls Point, Jupiter Island and Ocean Breeze Park. Stuart, the largest of our incorporated Cities, operates under a City Manager form of government and elects a five member commission. Likewise, the towns of Sewalls Point and Jupiter Island are governed by a five member Commission. Ocean Breeze Park, an enclave of mobile homes, is governed by a Mayor and a six member Commission. The remainder of the county falls under the auspice of the Martin County Board of County Commissioners; a five member board.

There are a number of other 'communities' within the unincorporated portion of Martin County. These communities include Hutchinson Island, Jensen Beach, Port Salerno, Hobe Sound, Palm City and Indiantown.
